Understanding Domain Lookalike Attacks
Domain lookalike attacks (also called typosquatting or domain impersonation) involve registering domains that closely resemble legitimate ones. Attackers use these for phishing, credential harvesting, and brand abuse.
Types of Variations We Check
Typosquatting
Common typing errors: adjacent key substitutions, character omission, character doubling, and transpositions.
Homoglyphs
Visually similar characters: replacing 'l' with '1', 'o' with '0', 'rn' with 'm', and other lookalike substitutions.
TLD Swaps
Registering your brand under different TLDs: .net, .org, .io, .xyz, and others.
Hyphen Insertion
